Starring Peter MacNicol, David Warner, and Christopher Lee.
Pretty spooky, but a lot of fun. This is another personal favorite of mine, mostly because
it is so unique. Based on a not-so-well-known tale from the Brothers Grimm, this is the tale of a boy who has never
known fear. A very young Peter MacNicol stars as Martin, and gives a hysterical performance. Being driven from
his home by his paranoid family, Martin sets forth to discover the shivers. Answering a proclamation to rid a haunted
castle of ghosts, he goes through one terrifying night after another, completely unafraid. While Martin's unafraid,
I should warn you - the castle scenes scared the heck out of me when I was little. Still, lovely Amanda (played by Dana
Hill) keeps him company at the inn, as does David Warner. Christopher Lee is typecast as the spooky king, and Vincent
Price does the narration. All in all, the atmosphere of this episode is definatley achieved, and brings a very good
fairy tale to new life.
